Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy.

Therapy can require significant investment of our time, as well as emotionally and financially. There’s no denying it, navigating life and relationships can often present with extreme levels of stress. If you’re struggling to feel connected to others, caught in cycles of repeated self-criticism, and constantly overwhelmed by a cascade of doubt, you can be left feeling very much alone. Growing up, or through life experience, you may have gotten the message that you should suppress or get over your hurts, doubts, and fears. You may believe that you’re expected to “suck it up and move on,” and if you can’t, there must be something wrong with you. This often leads to feelings of isolation, anxiety, and depression.

Through my experience and work, I’ve learned that there is some part of all of us that wants and very much needs to be seen, heard, and reassured that it’s ok, you’re ok, there’s nothing wrong with you. In session I become that secure base through which you process and order your experience. I believe that the tools you need to succeed are already within you. I serve as a guide or consultant as you journey through gaining a better understanding of your emotions. You’ll come to understand that emotions are not value-based, such as “good” or “bad,” but instead serve a purpose in letting us know what we need at any given moment. If you’re feeling a certain way, it’s for good reason and you learn how to approach your feelings with curiosity and without judgment. By doing so, you’ll gain more understanding and acceptance of yourself, as well as more meaning from relationships and life in general. You’ll be better able to make decisions which reflect your values, and which ultimately can help you thrive.

It takes courage and strength to take that first step, and I’m here when you’re ready.

Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced….
